Anticipating Clara's New Birthday

Someone proposed we celebrate Clara's transplant day as her second "birth" day.

Any ideas for how to mark this day of new life?  I've heard the actual transplant is completely anticlimactic and would love to find a fun way to celebrate it.  Any ideas on how to continue the tradition each year would be great!

You could steal a tree (or perhaps get one from the store) and "transplant" it into your yard.

Actually, I consider her transplant date to be her THIRD birthday, with her baptism day being her second one. Birth in the flesh, birth in the Spirit, birth in the bone marrow.

As far as commemorating it, my vote always goes for a cruise to celebrate any important occasion. The Caribbean is nice in January.

Wait until she's able to communicate and ask her what she would like for her various birthdays. I'm sure a clever little girl can come up something (or likely many somethings).

I suppose we aren't allowed to test whether she has a penchant for chocolate cheesecake?? I think that Mom and Dad should get some either way.... Obviously, she'll eventually need different t shirts for her special days explaining that it's a special day.... I like carolyn's idea of THREE "birth"days!!

Celebrate by giving. You could give blood, donate to Locks of Love, sign up to be an organ donor, etc. As Clara gets older, she can help pick some type of service she would like the family to do each year.

I'll be kicking my prayers into overdrive for all three of you tomorrow!
