Well, we were admitted yesterday evening under the pretense that it would make starting everything on Monday morning more efficient - so we were expecting to have the evening and night to simply reacquaint Clara to the hospital surroundings. Turns out we actually got to do so many more fun things: two chest xrays, a bagged urine collection (which they told us about after 10pm), blood draw labs, 4 IV meds, and a new oral med. That only complicated the fact that Clara missed her 5 o'clock nap and took one at 7 instead only to wake up at 8 and stay awake until 10:45. So it was quite a bit more than a simple reaquaintance to the unit.
I'm not sure if any of that had anything to do with Clara yelling out in her sleep every 3-15 minutes until 6 am. It was the oddest thing. She was sleeping for the most part but restlessly. So that made my first night back less than restful. And now that we are on the transplant side of the unit, everything is by the book. So if there are any meds on her IV pump, the nurse has to check it hourly - bah.
